Classroom Info.

I would like to welcome everyone to Holy Rosary 4K. We are all about fun and structure and building our skills to begin a wonderful and productive school career. We pride ourselves on having fun and learning even when we don't know we are learning. We like to be scheduled, but very flexible at the same time. 4K is the time to prepare for what is to come next. We focus on so many important skills from letter recognition and emergent writing, numbers, colors, shapes, fine motor skills, social and emotional growth. We know that everyone is at their own level and we strive to make sure we are making school the most fun and educational environment for everyone.

 *Communication Folders- Each child will bring home a communication folder each day filled with classroom information, kid mail, fun work, art work, etc. This is somewhere for parents and teachers to communicate and send in any important info. (milk $, after care $, pickup notes, etc.)

*Arrival- Students are allowed to enter school at 7:45. Teachers aid will retrieve students from cars in front of school on Park Ave. If it is raining please proceed to the back of school to walk way by cafeteria.

*Dismissal- Dismissal will be from the back of school at the Statue of Mary. On rainy days we will dismiss from inside the school.

Full day 2:30 Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Every Tuesday is an Early day and Dismissal is at 2:00.

For Half Day Students Dismissal is at 12:00.

Occasionally we will have Half Days and Dismissal is at 11:30.

*Lunch/Snack-Each child needs a lunch and snack each day. You may send in a weeks worth of snacks on Monday in a Gallon Zip lock bag to be kept in child's cubby. Each child will have a milk form in their communication folder every day. Please mark which days and what type of milk your child would like (white or chocolate). Milk is $.50 and can be placed in child's lunch account. We love to have visitors in our classroom and we encourage parents to come eat with us, but please refrain from bringing fast food into the classroom.
*Dress- Closed toed shoes are the recommended footwear for 4K. Please refrain from Crocs, Sandals, and Rain boots, for safety reasons. Please send an extra set of clothing (shirt, pants, socks) in a Gallon Ziploc bag to keep in child's cubby in case of accidents or spills.

* Rest Time- Children are not required to sleep at rest time, but we do encourage them to rest. Happy Nappies are included in book fees and will be received at school on the first day. They will be sent home every Friday to be washed and returned. We encourage each child to bring 1 small sleep animal or object to school to make rest time a little more like home.

*Evaluation- Students will be Evaluated 2 a year in November and April. After each Evaluation we will schedule a meeting to discuss what we are working on, how we have improved, and any questions or concerns. IF at any other time you would like to schedule a meeting please do not hesitate to ask.

*Discipline- We use a reward based method. At different increments of time stickers are awarded to friends who have used their listening ears, been a good friend, and followed our classroom rules. We also give out many extra stickers through out the day. After children fill up their sticker chart they may pick a prize from the Treat Box.

*Illness- Please do not send your child to school if they are running a fever, vomiting, have had diarrhea that day, or have red crusty itchy eyes. Students must be symptom free for at least 24 hours.

*Classroom Parties- We will be having a few classroom parties during the year. We encourage parents to join us, but please refrain from bringing younger siblings. This takes attention away from children in the classroom and we only plan for the amount of children in our classroom.

*Show-N-Tell- Periodically we will have Show-N-Tell that goes along with our theme. I will post those dates on our classroom Calendar.

*All About Me Bag- Each week 1 student will bring home the All About Me Bag and Complete an All About Me Poster so we can learn even more about our Wonderful Friends.
